A-5 Tunnel construction works: Public Transport disruptions
The A-5 tunnel construction project and the transformation of the road into the future Paseo Verde del Suroeste are leading to changes in public transport services in south-west Madrid. The Madrid Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM) has introduced various measures to maintain mobility during the works. These include changes to the routes and termini of several bus services, special services and additional public transport capacity.
Changes to bus routes and stops
The works affect several interurban bus routes serving municipalities such as Alcorcón, Móstoles and Navalcarnero, among others. Some services have relocated their termini to alternative transport interchanges, while others are operating on modified routes.
Diversions have also been introduced on several EMT bus routes operating along Paseo de Extremadura, together with special services to help passengers travel through the affected areas. The mobility plan also includes additional services on Metro, Metro Ligero Oeste and Cercanías. As service arrangements may change as the works progress, passengers are advised to check the latest updates before travelling.
